They cannot tail to have noted how different is the spirit of that letter, written as it is by an ardent Democrat, from the animus that pervades and characterizes aMlhe utterances of their party paper in this city. Mr. Pkndlbton recognizes the truth (heretofore affirmed by that paper) that party politics has no lot or p*rt in such a body, and while a warm partisan when party issues are at stake, he rises above the partisan here, where he affirms they havo no place.
