Estimated cost, $78. Adopted. The petition of 1. J. Walker, for improve ccrtain street», was reported favor ly. Adopted. The petition of Thomas Perkins and others, asking street Improvements on Spruce street, between Seventh and Eighth streets, was re ported favorably. Adopted. The weekly report of the Street Commis sioner,— E. Mclntire—dated October 19th, showed 1*2 men employed cleaning and repair ing streets, 4 at sand-pit, 10 on Monroe street culvert and Shipley run; total, 20 men. Also, 6 horses and carts on streets, and 3 ou culvert. Accepted. The Water Committee presented communi cations made them on the subject of land for reservoir. C. H. Rodney, $8,000 for land on the east side of Franklin street. Dr. and Mrs Penrose, $*22,180 for land on the north side of Tenth street. Donation ot land by Henry Grant, on condition that the city move life the line of Twelfth street 50 feet southw ard, Thomas McCorkle offeis to sell certain land between Eleventh ana Tweltth and Harrison and Franklin streets, about 500 feet, for $50 a foot- the Van Clutc property for $40 a foot; and McCorkle's property for $70 a foot; James is Downward, one lot 80 by 00 feet, for $1*2,000, and the lot at Twelfth and Franklin streets for a typo a On motion of Mr. Febiger, they were con sidcrcd separately, and each one rejected. The monthly statement of the Buperinten dent of Water Works was reported as having been examined and found correct. The weekly report of the Superintendent of Water Works, dated October 10th, showed 12 men employed, viz: 2 engineers, 1 foreman, 1 fireman,1 machinist, 1 inspecting fire-plugs, 1 at $5 ft month attending upper basin, 5 grading yard. 6 The communication of John Gouley and Thomas Curley was reported favorably from the Committee on Opening Streets, provided all the curbing and paving of Parish street are done liefere the city accepts said street.
