don. The plaintiffs are carriage makers, and,
having a stock on hand amounting in value to
>2,700, entrusted them to the defendanta, who
are dealers in horaea, for storage in the upper
story of their stable in March, JB7O. There was
a heavy fall of snow, under the weight of which
the roof broke and fell upon the car
riages, doing much injury to them
Thia action is brought to recover damages for
these injuries. The defendants contend that
their barn was safe under ordinary circum
stances, but-could not support an unusual
weight ol snow, and hence that they are not
liable in this action. Still pending. B. N.

Supreme Court.—The court met according
to adjournment, at 9 this a. m. Mr. THllngbsst
proceeded with his argument for the defence In
the contested will case for nearly an hour.
After the Judge’s charge to the Jury, which oc
cupied about half an honr, the Jury retired to
their room, and at the expiration of an hour
and a quarter returned to the court room, and
gave their decision againet the validity of the
codicil.
The case of Samuel J. Allyn vs, Wm. Brad
ford, Adm’r, was then taken up. ’The plaintiff
holds a note purporting to be signed by Wm.
H. Allyn. Witnesses were examined to testily
as to the genuineness of the signature. Tne
examination of the witnesses occupied several
hours. J. Tanner and W. Hayes are the coun
sel for the defendants, and J. Tillinghast and
N. Sanders for plaintiff.
