It em braces more solid, high-toned, an incorrupt ible material,more wisdo and virtue than any other ever printed in our columns. It will be elected without a doubt, for il anything is needed to establish and confirm our credit among Eastern and European capitalists, to the end that our city may be speedily rebuikt it is the election of just such a ticket as this, composed of onr ablest and worthiest citi zens. Ten days hence the people will be called on to vote. An irr sponsible gathering of soreheads has been held to organize an opposition movement. There can be no reasonable objection to an opposition movement: for, although Chicago has' been b rned, it is still a free city. But the character of the major ity of those enga gc in this movement, and especially the demagogue a peals made to sustain it, will cause all right-minded citi zens to give it a wide berth, and ensure their -hearty support to the re-proof ticket which •stands at the head of our columns. It is charged that this ticket is the product ■of newspaper dictation.” The charge is. utterly false. We do not admit that it would be any worse if it had been nominated.by the ■newspaper press, since the character of the men nominated would be all the same in. •either case. Small quantities for special and Immediate need, andarticlcs not readilv obtainable in the market, may be contracted for directly, without previous published proposals. 3.
