In view of tho wasto of ford and clothing. and the unequal distribution of (applies which has been going on, from the unfystcmatized method of dealing oat the pro vision!. it was found necessary to take prompt action. The committees were all represented, (tenoral Sheridan and tho Mayor were present. Mr. Wirt Dexter presided. The Chairman of each Committee made a re port, and tho suggestions made in connection with the several departments, in so far as they bormonized with the general plan of work, wore adopted. It will be come days yet befora a thorough system can be In operation, but the fol lowing may be giv-n as substantially the details t>f the plan agreed upon: Mr. 0. C. This work of organization Is nearly complete. The offices coa!d open to-day, if the books, blanks, Ac., were ready. They are now bring made In Mil waukee. where a force is working on (hem night and day. and will bo here thi« (Monday) even tog. At least tea district offices will open on Tuesday morning, with a force amply adequate :to investigate, and relieve nil applicants in each •district. No persons will bo able to obtain any supplies from nny depot under tho control of tbo Relief and Aid society, except in tbe district in which they reside. Tho system is simply on adaptation to tbe prtscnl emergency of that under which tbo Relief and Aid Society have teen working for the past lour ▼oars. It is simple, and will be readily comprehended by all persons engaged In the work, so that but little time will bo roqnirod xoeaablo it to work smoothly, efficiently, and intelligently. Tbo aid nod cu-opcrnlton of the public is earnestly solicited, especially in the earlier stages of tho work. until such time aa those to whom It, is entrusted become familiar with their duties. Tbo services of good citizens bavo been se cur'd to aid in organizing and carrying on tbe work. e Mr. Murry NoUon,Chairman of the Committee on Supplies, said be found the depot at the South Side doing a large business io receiving and distributing, all requisitions being honored, for supplies which were guing to-the churches and aeiiuul bouses where local place* had bean cstab* iiaccd for distribution. A similnr state of things existed at tbo West Side Rink, under charge of General Mann. At Nos. 50 and 52 Canal street, two large stores, coder the direction of thu Board «f Trade, were receiving and distributing supplies. At 4S Randolph street a largo store was opened, under direction of the President of fbe Board nf Trade, for bedding and cloth ing. At tbo corner of Green and Pulton streets a piano was opened for general storage. Two cnaes of medical stores bad been received from Buffalo. Armußemeuts were in progress to gather in thn sick, and ar range a system of posses. The iimnouuite ne cessities of the sick were not pressing, and the sanitary condition of the city being unusually good, there was no fear of epidemics. Tho Chairman of tho Committee on Shelter, Mr. Avery, reported that their organization was •completed, and tho luildcra were at work.
